Each site has its challenges and this one is certainly no different! This small, triangular block is covered by a Bushfire Management Overlay (BM01) restricting the placement of trees and shrubs on this property to reduce fire load. Therefore, we had to be very clever with space. Our client Trish wanted a relatively low maintenance garden, so we excluded traditional space-saving growing techniques which require a little more horticultural knowledge, e.g. espaliered fruit trees. Instead we designed uniquely curved raised garden beds that double as an outdoor seating space. Every plant included in this design is edible.
